Subscribe to the Sound Mind Investing newsletter and start reading. You can do it yourself. If you are uncomfortable with owning that, they can also point you to SMI Private Client, which will apply the strategies for under 1% fee, or there are robo advisors for much less at the brokerages.

Mark... Thanks for your question. I would connect with a CKA® in your city here: https://www.moneywise.org/find. $300K will be well above the minimum for most investment advisors. I would interview 2 or 3, and find the one that is the best fit for you. You definitely will not be laughed at, and I think you'll be really glad that you have a trusted advisor investing these assets on your behalf in line with your goals and objectives. Thanks for being a part of the MoneyWise community!

Make sure that any advisor that you use, including a CKA, will sign a written pledge that they are a financial fiduciary. If they will not, walk away.
